Jason Best, Lead Copywriter

A kid who more than once had his flashlight confiscated for reading past bedtime, Jason continues to be passionate about the power of words and storytelling. His more than 25 years of experience writing and editing has included work with National Geographic, Condé Nast Publications, Meredith Corp., The Museum of Modern Art, and the Whitney Museum of American Art, among numerous other clients in both print and digital media. What’s shared across this diverse experience is a commitment to working collaboratively to create dynamic content that delivers value by cutting through the clutter to build meaningful relationships between audience and brand.

For the past 15 years, Jason has served as consulting copywriter and editor at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), helping to create and sustain direct-mail campaigns that have raised over $25 million for one of the leading and most respected U.S. environmental nonprofits. Central to the success of his tenure at NRDC is his ability to work cross-institutionally and to distill often complex policy, legal, and scientific information into impactful content that connects with readers and moves them to action.

Jason is an unapologetic tree-hugger and nature enthusiast who in his spare time enjoys all manner of outdoor adventure with his husband and their canine companions.
